Analysts say that Hillary would not run against Obama in 2012 because there is no way to really unseat him through the primary process.   That’s probably very true.

But, what if she ran as an independent?

Now, I am going to hallucinate a truly phenomenal bi-partisan, girl-power ticket!  Clinton/Palin 2012.   Seriously, like, they are going to get together for coffee soon, and everything.

Forgetting how unlikely that little scenario is, what on earth do you think the media would do with it?

Who cares? If we’re gonna dream, let’s dream bigger than politics… SUPERBOWL BABY!

Never happen. They can drink all the coffee they want together, but they’d NEVER be on the same ticket. Their views are WAY to opposite of each other.

Friendship or casual acquaintances is one thing. Politics is another completely.

That’s why I said “hallucinate.” I want to know what the media would say and do.

As of today, not only do I think Hillary will run in ‘12, I think she has a good shot at the nomination.

I’ve gotten a lot of comic and critical mileage out of Obama’s poor day-to-day political skills, but one masterful thing he did was make Hillary Secretary of State. Friends close, enemies closer, and all that.

Only now he’s Baracking it all up by either minimizing or outright ignoring her at every turn.

Now I said “as of today.” Long way to go. But I can’t help seeing a talented and popular politician, holding an important position in this administration, quietly seething at how she’s been treated. She could easily run noticeably but not dramatically to Obama’s right (particularly on foreign policy) while still holding most of the base, and give him ruthless hell.

Kennedy almost did it in 1980, remember.

The media would do what they do now – rip Palin and praise Hilary. Every success would be to Hilary’s credit, and every failure would be Palin’s fault, regardless of the actual truth.

‘The media’ would have a field day! Stories that would get more folks riled up and garner more air time just don’t come along! FOX would have them crowned and coronated, MSNBC would say that it’s the end of the world, CNN would make docu-dramas about it.

    LOL – that they would.
